The Story of mx12

Everything was gone.
Then came the pencil. Then came Bitcoin.

Born in Latvia. Shaped by loss. Rebuilt through art and the only honest system I ever found. This is not a biography. It is a record — of a life reconstructed one brushstroke at a time.

Chapter I — The Accident

The road took everything.
The pencil gave it back.

In 2015, a car accident left me in a coma. When I woke up, the person I had been was gone. No memories. No familiar faces. No sense of a past self to return to. Just a blank canvas where a life used to be.

Before I could speak clearly. Before I could remember names. Before almost anything — I reached for a pencil and began to draw.

I did not choose art as a career. Art chose me as a survival mechanism. Every sketch was an act of reconstruction. Every line was a memory I was forcing back into existence.

I wasn't making art. I was making myself — one drawing at a time.

Chapter II — The Discovery

A world in ruins.
Bitcoin was the only thing that made sense.

During my recovery, as I was trying to understand the world I had woken into, I found Bitcoin. And in a world that felt deeply dishonest — full of systems designed to confuse, inflate, and control — Bitcoin was the only thing that felt true.

Fixed supply. No ruler. No permission required. Proof of work rewarded. A ledger that could not lie.

For someone rebuilding an identity from zero, this was not just financial philosophy. It was a mirror. Bitcoin and I had something in common: we both started from nothing and built our value one block at a time.

Every other system I encountered wanted something from me. Bitcoin just asked me to do the work.

Chapter III — The Art Begins

Art and Bitcoin.
Two forms of hard money.

By 2017, the two forces of my recovery — drawing and Bitcoin — had become inseparable. I became a Bitcoin artist. Not because it was a trend. Because it was my life.

I began painting the culture as I saw it. The sovereignty. The rebellion. The philosophy of proof of work applied to pigment and canvas. Digital and physical — both are my medium, because the revolution lives in both worlds.

Each painting is a preserved memory. Mine first. Then the culture's. When you own one of my originals, you are not buying wall decoration. You are becoming the guardian of a moment in the history of human financial freedom.

Chapter IV — Bitcoin Metropole

Art doesn't live
in screens alone.

Based in Kempten, Germany, I am the artist behind Bitcoin Metropole — a physical community space where Bitcoin culture is built face to face. Events, exhibitions, education. A place where the ideas that live in my paintings are spoken out loud.

Nine years after waking up with nothing, I paint in two mediums — digital and physical — and I exist in two worlds: online on Nostr and X, and in real rooms with real people who believe what I believe.

The work continues. The memory grows. The blockchain does not forget — and neither do I.

The Philosophy

"Art is the only thing that cannot be inflated. A painting is 21 million in permanence — a fixed supply of truth in a world of endless copies."

The Principles

01
Proof of Work
Nothing valuable is created without effort. Every piece I make is hours of real work — physical, digital, mental. No shortcuts. No AI generation. No printing on demand and calling it art. The work is the proof.
02
Hard Scarcity
Bitcoin taught the world that scarcity is sacred. My originals are 1/1. My limited editions are X/21. My hand-painted wearables exist once and then never again. If it can be reproduced infinitely, it is worth nothing. I do not reproduce infinitely.
03
Memory as Currency
I lost all my memories and had to rebuild them. That experience taught me that memory is the most valuable thing a human being possesses. My art preserves memory — personal and cultural. When you own my work, you own a piece of what this moment felt like.
04
Sovereignty
Not your keys, not your coins. Not your story, not your life. I create under my own name, sell on my own terms, accept Bitcoin natively, and answer to no gallery, no platform, no algorithm. The art is mine. The transaction is ours.
05
Physical Presence
The revolution is not only digital. I show up in real rooms, at real events, in a real community space in Kempten. Art that only exists on a screen is incomplete. My work hangs on walls, gets worn on bodies, and lives in physical spaces where humans gather.
06
Long Time Preference
Bitcoiners think in decades. So do I. I am not building a following. I am building a body of work that will outlast every platform, every trend, and every market cycle. The paintings I make today are meant to matter in 2045.

How the
work is made

I work across digital and physical mediums — not as separate practices but as one continuous conversation. A piece may begin as a digital composition and end as a large-format acrylic on canvas. Or begin on canvas and be documented on-chain.

Hand-painted wearables are painted directly onto the garment — one at a time, never repeated. Each is a 1/1 artwork you can wear into the world and carry the philosophy with you.

Limited edition prints are produced in runs of 21 — because 21 million is not just a number, it is a principle. Each is numbered, certified, and shipped with documentation of its place in the series.

Original paintings are not listed in a shop. They are acquired through conversation. If you want to own one, we talk first.

Year Everything Started
The accident. The coma. The pencil. The beginning of everything that followed.
1/1
Every Hand-Painted Wearable
No edition. No reprint. One garment, one painting, one owner.
X/21
All Limited Edition Prints
21 — because the cap is sacred. No exceptions.
Bitcoin & Lightning Accepted
Sats preferred. The art and the money share the same philosophy.

Own a piece
of the memory

Every original painting, every limited edition, every hand-painted wearable is a fragment of a rebuilt life and a documented revolution. The question is which fragment belongs with you.
